 If you are planning a trip to Okinawa, Japan, two top attractions usually top the list: snorkelling in crystal-clear waters and visiting the world-famous Churaumi Aquarium (오키나와 츄라우미 수족관).

Since I was traveling without a rental car (ttubeogi / pedestrian traveler) on a tight 3-day, 2-night itinerary, exploring every corner of Okinawa's southern, central, and northern regions felt challenging. While Okinawa’s Churaumi impresses with sheer scale, local aquariums like Haeundae offer fantastic interactive shows, including mermaid performances and live shark-feeding demonstrations that kids absolutely love.
