Surviving Monday with "Coffee Blood Transfusion"
Hi everyone,
It finally feels like summer is just around the corner here in Korea. I’m the type of person who gets cold very easily, but even for me, today was actually hot! It feels like spring just arrived, and now we’re already heading into the sweltering summer. It’s a bit scary, haha.
Anyway, today is Monday... (sigh). In Korea, we have a specific name for the feeling we get on this day: "Monday Blues" (월요병 - Wol-yo-byeong). It perfectly captures the "cries of despair" from K-office workers who have to head back to work after a fun weekend. I don’t know who coined the term, but it’s painfully accurate, isn’t it? lol.
To survive this, there’s one thing Koreans can’t live without: Coffee. We often joke that we need a "Coffee Blood Transfusion" (커피 수혈) just to function. I grabbed my takeout on the way to the office today. Thanks to "App-ordering," I could pick it up quickly even during the busy morning rush!
Did you know Korea has so many coffee shops that you can find one on almost every corner? That’s how much we rely on caffeine to get through the day.
I’m going to try and survive the rest of the day with this cup of coffee. What about you? What gets you through your day?
