Busan Vibe: "Cafe Run" at Gwangalli Beach & Casa Busano Review (Why You Should Run in Busan!)
Hi everyone!
Today, I headed to Gwangalli with my crew for a run. In Korea, the massive "running boom" from last year has settled down, and now only the true enthusiasts remain. But recently, a new trend called "Cafe Run" (카페런) has taken over!
What is a Cafe Run? It’s exactly what it sounds like: you finish a refreshing run and head straight to a trendy cafe for a rewarding treat. Koreans are obsessed with cafes, and combining it with exercise is the ultimate "God-saeng" (갓생 - Living a productive/exemplary life) move.
Gwangalli is my favorite spot in Busan. Whether it’s morning, noon, or night, the Gwangandaegyo Bridge (Diamond Bridge) view is breathtaking. Unlike painful asphalt, Gwangalli’s running path is cushioned and soft, making it much easier on your joints. Running while feeling the sea breeze and looking at the ocean? That’s pure healing. This is why I can’t leave Busan—the work-life balance here is unbeatable!
Today's Reward: Casa Busano (카사부사노) After a light 3km run, we visited Casa Busano. It’s not your typical large-cup coffee shop. The sizes are smaller, but the taste is incredibly rich and premium. It’s the perfect place to "chill" while staring at the bridge. If you're visiting Busan, this is a must-go spot for a sophisticated vibe.
The Road to Jeju Island
We’re keeping a log of our runs to make a photo album later. Our ultimate goal? A reward trip to Jeju Island to run along its volcanic coastlines! I can’t wait for that magical experience.
🇰🇷 K-Culture Snippets
Cafe Run (카페런): More than just a workout! It’s a trendy lifestyle where you reward your hard run with a premium coffee at an aesthetic cafe.
God-saeng (갓생): Living like a "God"—achieving a perfect, productive day by balancing work, health, and hobbies.
Chilling (칠링): In Korea, it’s all about relaxing in a sophisticated spot with a great view (like Gwangandaegyo Bridge!).
